U18s White Vs Cotgrave Claret

A great way to finish our season with a dominant performance against Cotgrave Claret. We played the match 6 a side, and apart from Nathan having to pick the ball out of the net once, both he & Dan who shared the goalkeeping duties, had very little to do between the sticks. Defensively we were solid with combinations of Eddie, Alex & Coby all working really hard & distributing the ball well back in to midfield to create counter attacking opportunities. Emin was lively with bags of skill, agility and ability, bagging himself a hat trick. His first was from a corner into the goal area and he was first to react to a loose ball bobbling around. His second was from a trademark mazy run from the halfway line beating three defenders along the way & finishing cooly & his third was from a throw in into the goal area, again being the first to react to the loose ball. Emin took the Man of the Match trophy home for a great display. Gazza, Mikey, Nathan, Dan & Alex were all putting in a shift in midfield / Striker positions, as we were rotating players around creating numerous goal scoring chances & it was Mikey who opened the scoring for us early in the first half as he was first to react to a goal kick from the Cotgrave keeper.

Again it been a real pleaure to work with all the players this season & seeing them all starting to develop into great footballers & develop into a great team.

We've had highs & low's throughout the season, but the whole team has never given up once, even through the toughest times, & I believe we're a better team for it.

Thanks to Richard & Chris for their assistance, (and to Craig for managing the team for their biggest win of the season!)  thanks to all the parents who've helped on the tea bar, rasing funds, which so far has paid for the entry to the Forest Festival & Priory Celtic Tournament, and thanks to all the parents & family members who've supported us along the way.

Next season we we be playing the 7 a side format which we're all looking forward to and we'll be training throughout the summer, with a few friendly games to help us adapt to the new format.
