Match Report | A much improved performance, both individually & collectively with each player given their own game objective. We focused on working hard without the ball, and to a man the team performed heroics against a evenly matched West Bridgford Hawks team. A new look defensive pairing of Nathan & Coby gave Makai in goal the protection he deserved, & when he was called into action, Makai was brave & remained focused throughout the whole game. Oliver was drafted into a left wing position as I had faith in his ability to track back to help the defenders when called upon. Jack worked incredibly hard and had several chances on goal, but his overall display was superb & on another day he would have scored. Ben on the right of midfield is starting to make the position his own. He managed to get forward & put in several crosses & also tracked back to give the defence help when required & Alex defended from the front to put the opposition defenders under pressure, again on another day would have scored. For his captains display with putting his body on the line literally, with making a goal line clearance & winning just about every tackle he went into, Nathan took the Man of the Match trophy this week, but in all honesty, every player deserved to be congratulated on a very good, battling display. Well done. |
